A well known finance company filmed a short film as their corporate video earlier this summer on Sony EX1 called ‘The Pursuit of Professionalism’. Due to some post production problems, they brought me in to edit a teaser trailer for the film along with the film itself.
The short has two versions, corporate and film festival. The former is done and work is being done on the latter. Although, I won’t be able to put up the film just yet (perhaps next year sometimes), here is the teaser trailer for the corporate version, I put together. Do leave your feedback
I am not a hardcore trekky like a lot of those people who go to Star Trek Conventions wearing a Romulan costume or Klingon make up but I am a Star Trek fan. Especially of ‘The Next Generation’.
However, the upcoming film which is the prequel to the original ‘Star Trek’ series and is directed by J.J.Abrams (creator of ‘Lost’) looks extremely promising. See for yourself.
Yes, you heard me. I have been using this for almost a month and a half now and I love it. Granted I am not on a data plan because I really don’t need that much YET:) but I enjoy surfing web on it using Wi-Fi.
One of the reasons that I got it for was to have my work portfolio on it. So next time someone asks for my card, I can simply show off the work and believe it or not I have ended up with 3 clients because of that.
Ok ok. I am also guilty of playing some games on it. I love the classic PacMan and FS5 Air Hockey on it and at least play them couple of times a day.
In any case, if you are in art business, whether you are a cinematographer, editor, director, graphic artist, audio engineer or photographer, this toy is for you. Trust me, not only you will love it for what it is, it will get you work too.
Sometime back, I edited first rough cut of a documentary called ‘The Kids Are Alright’. A documentary that was filmed in Lebanon during the 2006 War with Israel. Although, the subject matter was more on the war itself but it’s primary focus was the effects of war on youth in terms of drugs, sex and violence.
I have to say, I had a blast putting this together. Working with a rough script and capturing over 50 hours of footage, there were moments where my mind was simply wrapped up on this subject.
Without further due, here it is. Please Note, this is a rough cut, there are some places, where you will see placeholder “footage to go here” especially in the first 2 minutes.
