Apple Applies for Storyboard Patent

Tagged Under : , , ,

pastedgraphic_fullThat’s right. Two weeks ago Information Week reported that Apple has applied for Storyboard Patent in order to make Final Cut Pro user’s work a bit more easy. Below is the excerpt but you can read the full article here

The Apple storyboarding application described provides a way for film and video directors or producers to designate the placement of cameras and actors that integrates with the script. Thus, rather than being a purely visual aid for those behind the lens, the storyboards Apple has in mind could serve both crew and actors. The patent explains that storyboards “may be distributed to actors and crew in advance of production to aid in preparation.”

The Advantages of AppleTV

Tagged Under : , , , , , ,

As most of you guys know, I am a pretty big Apple product user. From my Mac Pro to Mac Book Pro to iPhone and AppleTV, I have made sure that everything I use for professional and entertainment purposes is Apple. One reason is simply because I am an Apple Fan and second because I like to keep everything including movies, bookmarks, music, trailers, calendar in sync.

In any case, I am here to briefly talk about Apple TV. What are it’s advantages. Well for starter, you can wireless connect your Apple TV to any of your Mac and simply throw in mpgs, mp3s on your ITunes and then it syncs to your ATV. You can also rent or buy movies and tv shows that are either new on DVD or something that aired on TV last night.

Now if you want to use it for more reasons, you can either install XMBC and Couchsurfer to watch everything from AVIs, DVDs, listen to music and even surf the web. Although, there are quite a few free hacks available, one of the best ones that has a little price tag attached to it is “aTV Flash”.

Basically, your ATV is built around Mac OS Tiger system. So all you have to do is install this “aTV Flash” for $49.95 and you can play everything. Let’s say your Apple TV is connected to your home theatre and all your mp3 files are on an external hard drive. Either you can upload those files to Apple TV by remotely connecting to it or hook it up to your Wireless Airport and you can listen to all your music in your living room while your computer is upstairs or in the basement.

You can even surf the web using Apple’s Safari either with a remote or by hooking up a keyboard or a mouse. Your choice. Not to mention, by default you can simply watch anything from YouTube on Apple TV. I am a huge fan of Apple TV especially, if I need to watch something on YouTube, I use it. Watching trailers, listening to music, watching movies and even surfing the web is something I love doing. Why should I use my DVDs all the time and scratch them when I really watch them through Apple TV.

Get your Apple TV at Apple’s Website and aTV Flash on their website.

Adobe Announces ‘Flash’ for iPhone

Tagged Under : , , , ,

Adobe confirmed yesterday at the Flash On The Beach (FOTB) conference in Brighton, UK that it is finally developing a Flash Player for the iPhone. But don’t hold your breath. You won’t be able to see it at least in the first half of 2009.

Nevertheless, this is big news for everyone who like to watch flash videos other than Youtube on their iPhone.

Apple Wheel, a Hoax:)

Tagged Under : , ,

Yes that’s right. Apple Wheel was a hoax story. Sorry but I couldn’t resist posting it. It does look like a slick idea but it won’t work because of the whole keyboard thing

Anyway it was fun while it lasted.

Apple to Introduce ‘Revolutionary’ Laptop

That’s right. There is only one company that I have seen over the past 10 years that continues to break the barrier by introducing something new and dynamic that hasn’t been seen before.

It’s not coming out yet but in the next 3-15 months Apple will introduce the first ever laptop with no keyboard. That’s right. You know how you use your wheel ipod. That’s all you got to do. See for yourself

IPhone: My Latest Toy

Tagged Under : , , ,

Yes, you heard me. I have been using this for almost a month and a half now and I love it. Granted I am not on a data plan because I really don’t need that much YET:) but I enjoy surfing web on it using Wi-Fi.

One of the reasons that I got it for was to have my work portfolio on it. So next time someone asks for my card, I can simply show off the work and believe it or not I have ended up with 3 clients because of that.

Ok ok. I am also guilty of playing some games on it. I love the classic PacMan and FS5 Air Hockey on it and at least play them couple of times a day.

In any case, if you are in art business, whether you are a cinematographer, editor, director, graphic artist, audio engineer or photographer, this toy is for you. Trust me, not only you will love it for what it is, it will get you work too.

IPod Freezing ITunes when connecting to Mac

Tagged Under : , , ,

I have had IPod Classic for 4 years now and for some reason or another, all of a sudden, when I hook it up to my mac and ITunes launches, it freezes ITunes after few minutes.  I notice that a lot of people ran into this problem but there is no solution to this from what I saw.

It doesn’t make any sense that all of a sudden this will happen? Anyone familiar with this, let me know.
