Hello everyone. I just wanted to take few moments to let everyone know that I will be updating my blog on more regular basis starting Sunday. Why? Well production season is getting off the ground once again. This Sunday, I will be filming first of many weddings in 2009 followed by a music video scheduled for 17th and 18th of February.
In most cases, I will be taking pictures at the events this year and posting them on facebook directly and in some cases, I will wait a day until post them. So hang on and wait for some pictures of the wedding upcoming in few days.
Way back I edited this piece for Anti-Aging Show that I put up on my facebook account but never here. This is something different from a lot of things that I have done, very edgy editing with a little bit of a different style.
Please note, I was only involved as an editor on this job with the one of the producers.
This already looks like one of a busy year. As the holidays wrapped up, I had quite a few meetings with my existing clients about 2009. Although most are still in works, I just got a greenlight on a project from a talent acquisition company to set up and shoot an uncut interview with 3 cameras. 1 will be locked while other two will be handheld back and forth by me.
I will keep you guys posted.

That’s right. There is only one company that I have seen over the past 10 years that continues to break the barrier by introducing something new and dynamic that hasn’t been seen before.
It’s not coming out yet but in the next 3-15 months Apple will introduce the first ever laptop with no keyboard. That’s right. You know how you use your wheel ipod. That’s all you got to do. See for yourself

For the fifth straight time, Canadian Junior Hockey team grabbed the Gold Medal in Ottawa tonight as they defeated Sweden 5-1. Although it sounds like Canada destroyed Sweden, it wasn’t really like that. The last two goals were empty net.
Canada took 3-0 in the beginning of third period but Sweden came back with 11 minutes to go making 3-1. They did their best after that to capitalize on the momentum but Goaltender Dustin Tokarski stunned them. His best performance game in the last 10 minutes of second period as Team Canada took 3 straight penalties and twice 5 on 3 for 20 seconds.
Congrats to Team Canada for taking the gold and definitely kudos for Team Sweden for fighting their hearts out in front of 20,000+ crowd.
Lately, I have been taking full advantage of social networking websites to promote my work. There has been facebook, twitter and now youtube.
That’s right, you can check pretty much more or less the same videos at www.youtube.com/jawadmir. From time to time, I will be putting some exclusive videos on youtube and not here for you to check out. For now enjoy it and subscribe to it.
I am also working on myspace, vimeo and couple other social networking websites page. Stay tuned.
No I didn’t go to Anti-Aging Show for my skin. Personally, I don’t believe in any of those things. But professionally it’s a different story. I was at Anti Aging from Oct 17-19 all 3 full days going from booth to booth speaking vendors on camera and then covering presentations. As tiring as it was, believe it or not it was lots of fun meeting different people, companies and learning about products.
I should have some sort of montage for you early next week. Stay tuned
Last Saturday was a pretty intense day. I had a two hour long edit session very early in the morning from 8-10 and then I drove off to Blue Mountain Resort in Collingwood to do few videos for some restuarants. I got there at 1 but the shoot didn’t start until 2:30 p.m.
We wrapped up at 5 p.m. and then I drove back to Mississauga for pre-wedding event called Mehndi (part of south asian wedding). It was a fun shoot, lots of colors, something that I have been exposed to all my life.
I will be posting previews from it on our blog soon
In May, I was part of an exciting recruitment video that was filmed at Toronto offices of Hydro One. My role on this production was of a cinematographer and assistant director. It’s always fun to see something that you shot edited by other than yourself.
Below is the video. Enjoy it.
